HOW TO PREVENT INGROWN HAIRS

An ingrown hair is simply a hair that grows under the skin because it cannot pierce the skin barrier.

When growing, ingrown hairs can cause irritation, redness, itching and even pain. It can leave scars and dark spots on the skin if scratched.

Ingrown hair appear mainly in areas where is waxing and or shaving such as legs, back, chest, underarm, face, neck and private part.



WHAT CAUSE INGROWN HAIRS?

Even though everyone is at risk of developing ingrown hairs at one time or another there are certain factors that can make them appear.


  • Tight clothing and repeated rubbing on depilated or shaved areas can also encourage the development of ingrown hairs by creating irritation on skin.

  • People who have curly hair or have tendency to curl on themselves are more at risks of developing ingrown hairs, as are people who have a lot of hair.

  • Improper shaving techniques are the major cause of ingrown hairs.'

  • Hair that is cut close to or below the follicular opening may have a sharp tip that can pierce the skin to cause an ingrown hair.

  • Hair follicles are clogged follicles

  • It is also possible for hair follicles to become clogged by:

  • dead skin

  • dirt and debris.

  • When this happens, the hair in the follicle can become stuck or grow sideways into the skin, causing an ingrown hair. In some cases, the hair can be seen growing under the surface of the skin.

  • Small bumps with hairs on beard, legs, pubic area, armpit and neck

HOW TO PREVENT INGROWN HAIRS?
